Associate - Jessica J. Hawthorne

Jessica Hawthorne (jhawthorne@smymlaw.com)  graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh. She graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the Widener University School of Law. Jessica specializes in labor and employment law for charter schools and school districts throughout the state. She has been actively involved in the charter school movement through legislative advocacy and policy development and has represented charter schools before chartering agencies on non-renewal and revocation issues as well as general dispute resolution between charter schools and granting agencies throughout California. Her practice areas include employee discipline, wage and hour law, advice regarding personnel policies, and employment contracts.
